Public Option in Healthcare

There should be absolute no doubt about the importance of the " Public Option " that President Obama has in his Healthcare Plan which is a necessary aspect that is needed to help keep the cost down and true competition working in the insurance industry.

Republicans want everyone to think this is " Socialized Medicine " when in true factual explanations IS NOT!!!!!  Republicans were against Medicare.  This program has worked.  Republicans were against Social Security.  This program has worked until now becuase of their prudent dislike of the system, taking the surpluses from the 1980's for which Reagan started using to pay down the National Debt he helped ring up as President.  And now with these Free Trade Agreements has destroyed the Job Market, sent work overseas so that they can use and abuse human rights to have materials made and sent back here!!!!  Republicans are LIARS PERIOD!!!!!!  They don't care about the average person, only the rich, well off, and themselves.  The free market system they still wish to convey DOESNT WORK ANYMORE as prices have skyrocketed out of many peoples reach.  Their free market system will only give more money to the insurance industry and destroy Healthcare for all!!!!!!

The public option is a very much needed part of the heathcare reform movement to help lower costs and give everyone the true chance of full medical coverage.  Tell your representatives and senators that Public Option is NEEDED!!!!!!

Republicans and their followers just will not realize the truth.

After a few months of trying to get my space up and running again I am now back to continue my purge of the traitorous sellout Republican Elitist idealogy and their followers who continue to cling upon a dinosaur hell bent on the continuous destruction of America and its working class.  Its truly unimagnable the ingratious, intolerant, brainwashed still seem to embrace the ideals that are truly National Socialistic and yet they refuse to believe they are being conned by the power hungry, mind grabbing extremist far right.  They have been complaining about tax dollars being spent on GM and Chrysler, yet they don't realize the wastefulness of those same monies that were spent on a war we shouldn't have been in the first place ( Iraq ).  What about the tax dollars that have been sent to countries over the years squandered when they should have been spent on us here?  What about the rebuilding of Japan and Korea into economic power houses that are taking us over now?  I could go on and on and yet these same people are not saying a word about this?  What about the elitists in Washington, DC getting Social Security and yet are millionaires and didn't even pay into the system?  What about Corporate Executives receiving the same and they didn't pay into it either? What abut Reagan paying off the deficit with the " SURPLUS FILLED SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE 1980's?  Didn't know that did you folks!!!!  What about these same politicians getting free healthcare from our tax dollars when they should be paying for it out of their own pockets?  Why isn't this money being used for Healthcare for every citizen in this land?  They say its Socialism which is a lie.  They are being paid off by these same elitist special interests so that prices continue to rise at our expense!!!!!  What a joke this country has become and its a shame. Its time Americans opened their eyes and seen their hard earned money not being squandered by the likes of GM and Chrysler.  No its because of the greed and power that have squanderd our jobs overseas to which they must have to exhonerate themselves.  And by brainwashing others into believing they are working for them, yet, but alas the truth be known, they are only looking out for themselves and special interests.  THIS IS THE TRUTH PEOPLE!!!!!

Republicans - The Treasonous Traitors of America

After learning the demise of the Bridge Loan Bill within the Senate it occured to me that these same individuals who always parlayed insite to facts towards " family values ", and " Competition within Capitalism ", proved without a shadow of a doubt just how threatening and destroying their conviction happens to be by voting down the Loan Bill.

Let the record show that one Senator, Richard Shelby of Alabama, has spent approximately $500 million dollars to land the likes of Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and others to his state and has no problem with that.  Especially where he can control the lives of the working class in this " Right to Work State ".  Does that sound like capitalism and or freedom?  I'll let you be the judge of that as I have stated in many blogs just how I feel about slavery i.e. Right to Work.

President Lincoln must be turning in his grave watching his beloved Republican Party shatter the lives and dreams of Americans within all 50 states all for the sake of greed and control.  To see the " Economic " war between the states 143 years after the true Civil War that was suppose to end slavery style workmanship, only to have it rear its ugly head once more.  Lincoln stated that " all that harms Labor is TREASON ".  And this is what the Republicans have proven!!!!!!

I pity those in the South who unfortunately cannot and truly don't realize the significance their Senators played in a possible destruction of Americas manufacturing demise.  They think they will get away unscathed, but quite the contrary as realism will emerge when the transplants begin closing those factory doors in the very near future without parts from the suppliers they depend upon here in this country.  If the Big 3 Fail so too will the transplants.  Mark my words Southerners.

My Thoughts on the proposed Bailout Package

I am writing to give my view to those that oppose the bridge loans to the Automakers and don't seem to understand what is at stake if this bill not passed by the legislature and signed by the President.

There is in no uncertain terms just how detrimental the collapse of this country's economy would reek upon every individual thoughout this nation if the domestic automakers are allowed to fail.  Every single taxpayer of this land will be affected including those that work for the transplants as they rely heavily upon the suppliers the Big 3 buy from every single day.

Bankruptcy is not an option as it has been proven beyond a doubt that the population will NOT BUY vehicles from GM, Ford, or Chrysler if they are forced into chapter 11.  Senator Shelby of Alabama and his allies just don't seem to get it or refuse to believe that the automakers will survive and become leaner to compete against the transplants.  Senator Shelby was unaware and still is quite frankly that the Big 3 have restructured and are continuing to do so along with Union Concessions in the historic labor contracts signed in 2005 and 2007.

These men in my opinion are hell bent in destroying the manufacturing backbone of this nation with their foolish and illogical hanky panky.  Would these same individuals work for a $1.00 for their salary with all the foolhardiness they pull each and everyday in Washington, D.C.?  Would they give up their golden parachutes, golden pensions and healthcare that WE THE TAXPAYER provide for them?  Yet they have the nerve to say they are out to protect the taxpayers money when they have voted to give themselves raises at our expense!!!!!  WE SHOULD HAVE THE FINAL SAY ON THAT WITH A NATIONAL VOTE!!!!  What about the loans and tax abatements Shelby has given to Toyota and possibly other foreign manufacturers within his state?  Where is the outcry there?

The hypocracy that Senator Shelby and his allies state is rampant and disgusting.  When other nations are out to protect their own automakers especially those in Europe, Korea and Japan that truly care about their nations economy and people proves without a shadow of a doubt that our own elected officials only care about themselves and slap their constituents in the face with their childishness, greed and ignorance.

Chapter 11 bankruptcy is highly more expensive to the average taxpayer than a bridge loan of $15 billion dollars.  The competitiveness Shelby and others state as " Reasons " are bogus.  If we had National Healthcare here in the United States as they do in Europe, Japan, and elsewhere, then those monies would be put into product development and other areas as well within the Big 3.  The Big 3 also are equal in and also pass the Japanese, Koreans, and Germans within quality, fuel efficiency, and products as a whole, period!!!!

Its time for Americans to open their eyes and realize that purchasing domestic automakers products is crucial to the economy of this country if it is to survive.  If this country goes down, the world will follow people.  It will be worse than the 1929 crash and the 1930's depression.  There won't be a war to get us out of it like World War II did, only a possible revolution within this country to wake up those who had the power to prevent a possible catastrophy such as this from happening!!!!  By passing the Bridge Loan package!!!!

Abraham Lincoln stated " All that serves labor, serves the Nation.  All that harms is treason.  If a man tells you he trusts America yet fears Labor, he is a fool.  There is no America without Labor, and to flee the one is to rob the other. "  Senator Shelby and his Allies should Listen and Listen Well to their partys' former Presidents remarks!!!!!  Their actions they are embarking upon is highly TREASONOUS according to Lincolns statement.

Boycott Alabama Now Website Launched Today PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rich Truesdell
Monday, 08 December 2008

A new website shows what some of the people living in the "Rust Belt" really think of Alabama's Senator Richard Shelby.

Boycott Alabama Now As someone with a vested interest in the success of the automotive industry--especially the Detroit Three--I have grave concerns about its future. My concerns are shared by Managing Editor Brandy Schaffels, who spoke about the same issue in a recent blog. It seems that everyone has an opinion, but nothing makes me crazier than when some know-it-all pundit--CNBC's Larry Kudlow immediately comes to mind--basically says to hell with GM, Ford, and Chrysler, derisively referring to them as the "Little Three" and dismissing them as not being worthy of the same consideration afforded to Wall Street by calling the senate bailout proceedings "Bailout Nation."

And then there are the hypocrites in the legislature--Alabama's Richard Shelby is my poster child--who rail about the possible bailout while he's using tax subsidies to woo transplant manufacturers to his state. Is this some sort of conflict of interest? The possibility was not lost on Amber Arellano who wrote the following on December 8, 2008 in a commentary in The Detroit News titled "Washington's Whipping Boys."

"Wall Street didn't have to leave its comfy New York City sky rise perch, while Detroit has had to succumb to scolding from fools such as Sen. Richard Shelby. Shelby represents Alabama, one of the most federally subsidized, bailed-out states in the union for the last 150 years. Michigan has been a sender state in taxes--meaning we send far more to the Feds than we get back--and has helped fund endless jump-starts in economic development in less-developed states such as Alabama for most of the last century."

It seems like Ms. Arellano is a just little miffed that it seems like her home state of Michigan has been subsidizing the fair citizens of Alabama all these years.

Well one friend of Automotive Traveler, reader Joe Babiasz, a retired GM employee living in southern Michigan, has had enough. This morning he launched a website--Boycott Alabama--to tell the other side of the story, the one that the national media and the pundits all seem willing to ignore, the pain that's already been inflicted on the Midwest. It's well worth a visit, if for nothing more than to see that in the era of the Internet, even the smallest voice can be heard.

We expect that Mr. Babiasz' grassroots effort, in our viral world, will quickly pick up steam and spread. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we see him soon on CNN, CNBC, or one of the major networks as he makes his points clearly, using the words of people like Senator Shelby to expose their misinformation. Just remember, you saw mention of Boycott Alabama Now here first on Automotive Traveler.

10 Reasons its imperative for the Bridge Loan to Pass

Auto Industry

by Tula Connell, Dec 9, 2008

Chances are the upcoming holiday get-togethers will provide plenty of encounters with relatives and friends who are against helping out the auto industry. Opponents of a bridge loan have plenty to say. And we should, too. Here’s a quick list of reasons for countering arguments by Uncle CEO and Cousin It.

1. Unlike the taxpayer giveaway to Wall Street, the funds for the auto industry are loans. These loans have to be paid back. The Big Banks who got our $700 billion get to keep it.

2. It’s cheaper to support the auto industry than to let it die. Anderson Economic Group and BBK Ltd. determined that over a two-year period, a $30 billion bridge loan with only half of the amount repaid would result in a $16.4 billion cost to taxpayers in lost sales, taxes and jobs, while a bankruptcy would cost $65.9 billion when costs for pensions, unemployment insurance, loan losses and professional and other fees are added.

3. The jobs of autoworkers aren’t the only ones at stake. One in 10 jobs in the United States depend in some way upon the auto industry. Between 3 million and 5 million U.S. jobs would be lost in the first year alone if the auto industry doesn’t get support. With unemployment likely to worsen to 8 percent or 9 percent next year, adding millions more to the jobless rolls easily could turn the recession into a Depression.

4. The U.S. Treasury Department’s quick handout of taxpayer money to Bank of America, AIG, Wachovia and other white-collar firms contrasts sharply with the way in which auto industry CEOs have been grilled. The Bush administration has a laundry list of requirements for the Big Three if they get a loan. So does that mean the Bush administration now will tell its Wall Street buddies to stop using our money to buy up smaller firms, lobby for better deals, free up credit-the supposed goal of the bailout-and not throw away hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on lavish executive retreats?

5. The double standard for treating the auto industry like unwashed beggers while granting every wish for the Wizards of Wall Street who melted from their own greed is fundamentally about two things: Rewarding Bush administration cronies in a last-minute raiding of public funds and attacking a unionized workforce as part of the corporate class war against workers.

6. It’s not an accident the salaries of nonunion autoworkers in the South are nearly the same as those of UAW members-when an industry offers competitive salaries, even nonunionized workers benefit. But if the plug is pulled on the Big Three, chances are the wages of autoworkers in the South will sink.

7. The bridge loan provides a key opportunity to Fast Track the creation of energy-efficient American cars by making “green cars” one of the stipulations of the loan.

8. Strengthening the U.S. manufacturing industry is in the interest of our nation. Higher-paying manufacturing jobs don’t only benefit workers and our communities. Manufacturing is a critical part of national strength-imagine if, during World War II, there was no auto industry to transform into creating the military support we needed to defeat the Nazis?

9. Opponents of a bridge loan are advancing the argument of Big Business, not Main Street. It’s in the interest of corporate giants like GE-owned NBC to pay anchors like Brian Williams to hype the lower-benefit auto jobs in the South and wipe out unionized workforces by hailing companies that provide bare-bones wages with no health care, retirement or other basics.

10. Sadly, the moral argument-a bridge loan is the right thing to do-is last on the list. Because for some out there, saving U.S. workers’ jobs and ensuring a strong nation doesn’t seem to be enough of a reason in itself for helping a homegrown industry when it’s down

This is my site for championing our right to unionize without the tyranny set forth by this Rumpublican Anti Worker Government and their pocket filling colleagues of Corporations and Companies.   Click on the links in my Custom List on the right side of my blog and they will take you to Websites for Unions you can contact for organizing efforts.

Right to work is a vicious assault upon workers and their rights for which companies, corporations, state and local governments, as well as the National Government working in collusion to control you in every concievable way and see to it at any extent up to and including harassment, intimidation practices, firing,  the usage of anti union thugs and anti union lawyers to make sure you won't organize.  This is illegal!!!!!!

Unions are only as strong as its people and we have to become stronger now more than ever!!!!!!  Our own right wing rumpublican government has declared hatred towards the middle class and poor.  We have given back to help companies survive and they reward themselves with bonuses after declaring " they can't make ends meet ".  The truth is being shown and told every day by Union Organizations and we as Americans need to realize that we have to stand tall and firm against power hungry, greedy, anti middleclass owners and management.

We have the right and the Supreme Court ruled in the late 1930's in our favor to organize and have a say in the workplace with our wages, safety requirements, along with representation of our reputations and work records from overzealous, power hungry, worker hating, power tripping Owners and Management.
